Privacy Policy

Who runs this site

oscaribars.com is the personal portfolio of Oscar Ibars. It exists to show work, publish writing, and let people book a conversation. It is not a product, and it does not have users in the usual sense.

What is collected

Three things, all of them measurement rather than identity:

• Google Analytics 4. Which pages you viewed and in what order, an approximate location derived from your IP address, your device and browser type, and clicks on the “Book a call” links. This uses cookies.
• Vercel Analytics. Aggregate page view counts and performance timings. It does not use cookies and does not build a cross-site profile.
• Hosting logs. Vercel records standard web server entries — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp — for delivery, security, and abuse prevention.

What is not collected

There are no user accounts, no login, no contact form, no newsletter signup, and no payment processing on this site. No personal information is sold, rented, or shared with advertisers. There is no advertising network here and no cross-site tracking pixel beyond the analytics named above.

Third parties

Booking a call opens Google Calendar Appointment Scheduling. Anything you enter there — your name, email, and whatever you write in the notes — is handled by Google under Google’s privacy policy, and reaches Oscar as a calendar invitation. Analytics and hosting are provided by Google and Vercel respectively, each under their own terms.

Outbound links to LinkedIn, GitHub, and X leave this site. Once you follow one, that platform’s privacy policy applies, not this one.

Cookies and how to refuse them

The only cookies set here come from Google Analytics. You can block them in your browser settings, use private browsing, or install Google’s official opt-out browser add-on. The site works exactly the same with analytics blocked — nothing on it depends on tracking you.

Retention

Analytics data expires on Google’s standard retention schedule for the property. Hosting logs are retained by Vercel on their platform schedule. Neither is exported, enriched, or combined with any other source.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held about you, and to object to processing. Because this site collects no names, emails, or account identifiers, there is usually nothing here that identifies you individually. If you booked a call, that record lives in Google Calendar and can be deleted on request.

Ask via any of the contact routes below and it will be handled.

Children

This site is aimed at working professionals. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. There is no mailing list to notify, so the date is the record.
